Everything you need to improve and transform your life you already possess inside of you. My job as your therapist is to empower you to use your strengths to achieve your goals and change your life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who loves working with adolescents, adults, and couples. I work with teens and adults on issues such as identity; anxiety and stress management; depression; coping skills; emotion regulation; self-esteem; and improving relationships. I work with couples on managing conflicts, building friendship & intimacy, and creating shared meaning. I have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work.
My main personal and professional values are truth and authenticity. I bring my values into my work as a therapist, and I assist you with identifying and living a life that is congruent with your values. Therapy modalities I use in my work include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
The client-therapist relationship is the greatest and BEST therapeutic intervention. The rapport we build in our therapy sessions will be essential and necessary for your positive change. I can't promise therapy will be easy. In fact, therapy is a lot of hard work. What I will tell you is to trust the process and remain committed to your healing, growth, and positive change.
Counseling is a place of acceptance where you can learn to see your true value. You hold the keys to your happiness. You just need support to unlock that door. Doing it alone will keep you stuck. You can learn to trust again. I received specialized training in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a Registered Play Therapist and enhance parent-child communication. I have an office where I see individuals and families. I also have two large rooms where I teach parents how to use Play Therapy Skills.
I'm an affirming, inclusive, anti-racist christian who helps adult women recover from trauma of different types. I am trained in EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Trauma-focused Narrative therapy. I also have familiarity with Internal Family Systems Therapy. I've been in practice since 2004.
My approach is compassionate and yet direct and productive. When people work with me some of the results they enjoy are a greater connection to self and others, more fun in their life and relationships, more productivity at work, people commenting on how different they are, and a feeling of safety and securely within themselves and their lives.
It takes courage to seek help. Thank you for taking that step.
My name is Nikola Taylor, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. I specialize in grief and loss counseling, which can take many forms—the loss of a loved one, a breakup, a move, job loss, estrangement, loss of independence, or even the grief of an unrealized dream. Whether your loss is recent or something you’ve carried for years, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
My approach is collaborative, curious, and free of judgment. I see my clients as experts in their own lives and work to identify strengths while finding creative ways to bring comfort and clarity. I believe in the healing power of deep listening, strong peer support, and radical self-acceptance. My therapeutic style incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and psychodynamic principles to help clients make meaning of their experiences. I also have specialized training in Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD).
I am honored to work with a diverse range of clients and deeply respect different cultures, gender identities, and spiritual perspectives. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to sit with them in deep pain, holding space for feelings of guilt, regret, despair, and longing. Together, we work toward self-compassion and healing.
With both professional hospice experience and personal experience with grief, I understand the complexity of loss. I would be honored to support you on your unique journey. Please reach out for a free phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
