I am a queer-identified African American cisgender woman. My pronouns are she/her. I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling degree. I have over 12 years of experience effectively treating mental health and substance abuse concerns in LGBTQIA2S+ persons (sex positive; kink affirming), BIPOC and other PGM folx, and femme-identified persons.
I'm so glad you are here! I have 7 years of experience in psychiatry with a total of 20 years in nursing. I work with those aged 6 and older. I thrive on working closely with my client in setting goals and helping achieve relief of symptoms.
Welcome to my practice! I am a licensed psychotherapist in CA, NC and SC. I have been a clinician for more than 20 years, and also have supervised pre-licensed therapists for 11 years. I have a meditation practice, travel as often as possible, and deeply appreciate diversity and creativity. I work with trauma, depression, anxiety, women's issues, identity, chronic mental illness, and medical trauma. I work with all adults and teenagers.
Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of clinical experience. I specialize in treating adults with anxiety and depression, and mild eating disorders. Additional areas include exploring ways to manage attention-deficit issues and supporting clients through life transitions. My clinical experience includes group practice, medical social work, crisis intervention, employee assistance, management consultation, and community mental health.
My approach to treatment is collaborative, trauma-informed, and integrative. I am here to explore how you want life to be different, with some professional support, and explore (overtime) steps/smaller goals you might want to try or work on, to make some progress on your goals for treatment. I am a participant in your wellness journey; you are the expert on your story.
I am trained in CBT, ACT, DBT, MI and may offer intuitive eating strategies and information on diet culture if it's relevant to what you're seeking care for. I aim to be non-judgmental, flexible based on your needs, and support you "tapping in" to what you know is true about yourself, that may be covered by self-doubt, trauma, or habitual i behaviors. I aim to offer evidence-based strategies and information to help you address the concerns you're seeking professional support for, along with offering an alternative perspective.
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and hold my clinical licensure in the state of North Carolina. I have spent much of my career serving those at end of life and also have experience assisting caregivers, those in transitional phases of life, and those who are bereaved. As a mother, I am invested in the wellness of all mothers and women and feel deep appreciation for the way mothers show up for countless others before themselves. I look forward to learning how I can walk alongside you in this journey.
